Luxury Skincare, Designed Around Skin Biology.
Formulated as an interconnected system — not a collection of isolated hero ingredients.
Our Story
A Forty-Year Search to Understand How Skin Repairs.
At fourteen, a severe burn changed the way our founder's skin behaved. What followed was not a business plan, but a forty-year search to better understand what skin needs to repair, restore and function at its best.
That search led backwards to the herbal remedies passed down from his great-great-grandmother, Mabel Gray, in 1890s East Anglia — and forwards through four decades of pharmaceutical research. Mabel Gray Skincare is where those two bodies of knowledge meet.
"Skin doesn't lose the ability to repair. It loses the clarity of instruction."
That insight changed the question from which single ingredient skin needs, to how an entire formulation can support the way skin functions.
Familiar Ingredients. A Different Philosophy.
You will recognise many of the ingredients inside Mabel Gray. But no ingredient works alone. Each formula brings together hydrators, lipids, antioxidants, peptides and botanical compounds to support skin as an interconnected system.
Multi-Weight Hyaluronic Acid
Different molecular weights support hydration across the skin's surface and upper layers, helping create the environment in which the rest of the formula can perform.
Its role is foundational — but it is only one part of the system.
Olive-Derived Squalane
A lightweight, skin-compatible lipid that helps soften the skin and support its protective environment without leaving a heavy finish.
It works alongside botanical oils, antioxidants and barrier-supporting ingredients rather than acting alone.
Peptide Complex
A carefully selected peptide complex designed to support the signals associated with firmness, resilience and visible skin renewal.
The peptides are supported by the hydration, lipid and antioxidant environment surrounding them.
Olive Bioactive Complex
Olive-derived ingredients provide far more than one celebrated fatty acid. Hundreds of naturally occurring minor compounds have been identified across olive fruit and olive oil.
Nature rarely relies on a single hero ingredient. Neither do we.
⚠ Note: "230+ bioactive compounds" claim replaced with reviewed-safe wording per brief — verify final figure against actual ingredient materials before publishing.
Nature Never Isolated a Hero Ingredient.
The beauty industry made individual actives easy to recognise, compare and market. Biology is less convenient. Skin relies on overlapping systems — hydration, lipids, antioxidants, signalling compounds and barrier support — working together.
Mabel Gray does not dismiss proven actives. We place them in the environment they need to perform as part of a complete formulation.
Two Formulas. One Interconnected System.
Skin Is a System
Skin does not operate through isolated functions. Hydration, lipids, antioxidants, barrier support and cellular communication are interconnected.
Formulas Should Be Too
Every ingredient is selected not only for its individual benefit, but for the role it plays alongside the rest of the formula.
Nature Provides Complexity
Botanical ingredients are naturally composed of supporting compounds rather than single isolated molecules. We preserve that broader perspective in how we formulate.
Science Provides Precision
Traditional botanical knowledge is evaluated and refined through modern formulation science, evidence and disciplined manufacturing.
